Zoom does what any bad guy would do, and he kidnaps someone close to the Flash, Wally West. Cisco opens a breach to Earth-2, and after a race between Zoom and the Flash, Zoom knows he can no longer catch the Flash. This is a turning-point for Iris and her feelings towards Barry.įlash is wearing a new device that will make him faster than Zoom. Iris says that she feels that her being with Barry is her destiny. She knows that on Earth-2 she married Barry, and in her future, she's also married to Barry. However, Iris doesn't go through with it. This is the first time she's been on a date since her fiance, Eddie, died in the first season. Iris has a big date with her editor at work. Towards the end of the episode, Cisco finally opens up a breach to the other world, allowing the Flash to fight Zoom. Harrison Wells gives Cisco a pair of glasses, much like Reverb wore, in order to channel into his powers. He wants to use his powers to open a breach to Earth-2, but he can't do it on his own. Currently, Cisco's powers aren't at the same level as his doppelganger, but he's working at it. On Earth-2, Cisco faced Reverb, who was that Earth's version of Cisco. During a session, Hunter tapped into the speed force for the first time and gained his super-speed.
Hunter was sent to a mental institution where he received electroshock therapy. However, his past traumas came back to haunt him, and Hunter ended up becoming a murderer, taking 23 lives on his Earth. When he was younger, his father, who was a hero on Earth-2, killed Hunter's mother right in front of him. Zoom, whose real name is Hunter Zolomon, didn't have an easy childhood. Warning: There are some spoilers ahead, for episode 18, "Versus Zoom." This week, everything about Zoom's notorious plan is revealed, including who Zoom actually is and his disturbing past. In a previous episode, it was revealed that Zoom was either Jay Garrick or a doppelganger of Garrick, from another parallel Earth.
There is certainly a lot to unpack from there, but it would be surprising if Godspeed didn’t show up at all in the episode that bears his name.įind out when The Flash returns Tuesday at 8pm.After taking a two-week break, The Flash returns to CW and has Barry Allen and his companions at STAR Labs taking on the season-long villain, Zoom. Instead they both concentrate on the fall out from the Nora-Thawne revelation. Interestingly, neither the episode synopsis nor the promo mention Godspeed at all. What might not have changed: Heart’s obsession with finding his father’s killer, which was what made him create the Godspeed persona and go against the law. In the comics they had actually been working together even before Barry was struck by lightning and became The Flash, so obviously that piece of the story has changed. In the comics, Godspeed, or August Heart, was both an ally and an adversary to the Flash at various points. This week will also presumably contain the first appearance of Godspeed. Yes, his existence in that time is very confined, but it’s likely that any big change would affect him somewhere along the way. But what if it wasn’t? Grace has already broken through, so whatever damage she did to the timeline should start to show up at some point, right? But so far as we know nothing in Thawne’s future time has changed. Then when Grace showed up it seemed like that timeline might have been her. A few episodes ago, Thawne told Nora that there was a new timeline trying to break through. And she might not be their biggest problem. So now Grace has the original Cicada dagger, as well as the knives she brought with her from the future. She even took it even a step further by killing Orlin when he urged her to think about what she was doing rather than just killing everyone who got in her way. Also Grace fully took on the Cicada persona by picking up her uncle’s mission to eradicate all the meta humans.
In that episode Sherloque told everyone the truth about Nora’s connection to Thawne, but only after Thawne had urged Nora to tell Barry herself. The Flash has been on a mini-hiatus for a few weeks, but the final episode before the break certainly gave enough food for thought. Where can you find this weeks episode of The Flash online?
